Choose a studio that works beyond the frame.
A good photography studio is more than an empty room with a backdrop. Start with the usable shooting area, ceiling height, access to power and room for the crew to move. Then look at the variety you can create without losing half the day to rebuilding. A seamless white cyclorama is useful for clean product shots, fashion catalogues and full-length portraits, while coloured walls and movable furniture make lifestyle frames faster to produce.
For a brand shoot, practical support matters just as much as the set. Check for a changing room, vanity, mirrors, seating, loading access and a place for the client or agency team to review frames. Ask what lighting, reflectors, stands and grip are available, and whether additional equipment or an in-house photographer can be arranged.
Before you book
- Share the shot list, crew size and largest product with the studio.
- Confirm whether your deliverables include reels and vertical content.
- Ask about prop sourcing, extra roll colours and lighting requirements.
- Schedule setup and pack-down time—not only camera time.
Sooper Studios offers a 21′ × 23′ production floor in Sector 62, Noida, with a white cyclorama, teal, grey, beige and blush pink walls, a changing room, movable vanity and flexible production support. Explore the studio or tell us about your shoot.
Cyclorama, colour or a built set?
The backdrop should support the idea, not become the idea by accident. A white cyclorama creates a continuous, distraction-free surface and gives photographers control over shadows, gradients and cut-outs. It is a strong choice for e-commerce, campaign key visuals, fashion, beauty and product photography where a clean frame or post-production flexibility is important.
Coloured walls create mood immediately. Teal can feel graphic and contemporary; grey is restrained and product-friendly; beige brings warmth; blush pink works beautifully for beauty, fashion and lifestyle stories. Furniture, plants, tables, plinths and smaller props can then turn the same wall into many different settings. When the campaign needs a recognisable room or narrative, a built set combines surfaces, props and lighting into a world that belongs to the brand.
Decide by working backwards from placement. Marketplace images may need white or neutral space. Social reels benefit from depth, texture and recognisable colour. A campaign often needs both. The most efficient plan is usually to photograph the controlled key visual first, then rearrange furniture, props and lighting for lifestyle and vertical variations. Browse our studio gallery and prop library for possibilities.
One shoot day, more useful content.
Brands often ask for vertical content after the main shoot has already been planned. That usually creates rushed crops, missed details and extra production days. Instead, define the complete delivery matrix before the camera comes out: website banners, marketplace images, 4:5 social posts, 9:16 reels, stories, thumbnails and behind-the-scenes clips.
Design each setup with safe space for different crops. Capture a clean hero frame, detail shots, hands-in-frame actions, movement and short transitions. Record products entering and leaving the frame, talent looking at camera and off-camera, and a few seconds of stillness at the beginning and end of every clip. Small variations give editors far more freedom.
A simple content multiplier
- Build three lighting states from one set: clean, dramatic and playful.
- Capture wide, mid and close compositions before changing the setup.
- Reserve a phone-ready vertical angle alongside the main camera.
- Photograph props and textures separately for covers and carousels.
With multiple coloured walls, a cyclorama, furniture, props and continuous or flash lighting options, the same studio session can move from polished product imagery to creator-led lifestyle content. Additional equipment, prop sourcing and an in-house photographer are available at extra cost.
